Healthy Fats | Avocados

The American Dietetic Association [ADA] recommends that 25 to 30% of your calories come from healthy fats. Add some form of healthy fats [that contain Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids] into at lest two or three meals each day. Almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, flaxseed, fatty fish, olive oil and avocados are all great choices.

An avocado, rich in healthy monosaturated fat, has an added benefit- It has double the amount of potassium as a banana.

Do choose California-grown avocados over Florida-grown. They have fewer calories and less sugar.
